Brews & News (new page!)

Check our BREWS & NEWS page often to see what’s going on at The Factory.  These are things that don’t quite fit into our other categories like Concerts & Events, Food & Drink, Who’s Who, etc.  Stuff we want to bring to your attention immediately.

F’rinstance, consider these three bits of late-breaking news:

1.  We’ve got Arrogant Bastard!
                  No, not this one… bad-bastard.jpg              …this one!  ab.jpg
.
In other beer news: There are 171 trappist monasteries in the world.  Seven of them (six in Belgium and one in The Netherlands) produce beer.  These are known as trappist ales.  We have four of the world’s seven trappist ales.  Chimay (on tap), Koeningshoeven, Westmalle, and Rochefort.  Belgian beer enthusiasts get this.  Do you?  Give us a couple of more weeks and we’ll have all seven.

2.  We have a new chef we’re absolutely thrilled with.  Kevin Fisher has been a terrific and enthusiastic addition to our team.  He has brought significant experience, dedication, and talent to the kitchen.  His commitment to local and sustainable cuisine is a perfect match with our own philosophy.  And during the coming months you can expect more and more surprises on the menu.  Even Oktoberfest is going to be twice the event it was last year.  A carving station?

3.  Tina Thompson, our new baker (formerly of Central Avenue Bakery), is another wonderful addition to our staff.  She is putting out simply amazing breads, bagels, pretzels, baked goods, desserts and her famous vegetarian Nut Burger, and filling the place with fabulous array of heavenly aromas.  Be sure to try to be here when her farmer’s bread comes out of the oven!
