Back in December of 1993, Morgan Christopher was driving through Monterey and thinking about creating a coffeehouse.  Not just any coffeehouse…a community gathering place kinda coffeehouse.  And not just any community gathering place kinda coffeehouse…a community gathering place coffeehouse in the great tradition of coffeehouses throughout history.

On his way out of town he spotted an old vacant stone building at the corner of Washington and Pearl.
