Finally, a place for people to chat, enjoy a coffee, and relax that doesn’t require a 20 minute drive to Monterey! Your place is exactly what I needed to find to make living in Marina bearable. Now my beloved and I have a place to hang out, read a paper, chat about current events and sip some coffee, or wine, or beer…or all three. I love the comfort of the space, and how welcoming it is to all sorts of people. Thank you so much! By the way–I had the BEST latte of my life there, and I’e knocked back my fair share of lattes, belive you me. I was also pleased to see the bamboo counters in the WC and the euro-toilets. So smart!
Best,
Libby G.

What a great concept. Its about time they opened a place like this. I showed up late for a couple drinks and tasted something I have never tasted before. A sake margarita. Who knew? Tasted like a wicked Sweet Tart, pretty much the most amamzing. Definitely ask for it if you want to try something different. JP the man behind the bar is an amazing mixologist and beer savvy. I tried the Erdinger and it is probably one of my top 5 beers now. I can’t wait to go back. Check out their site. They have a lot of fun events going on.

We did a mini-trip down after new year’s. Chad picked this place because he saw the listing for the local liberals’ meet-up [first Wednesday of the month at 6pmish, vote Jane!]. We came back and spent the entire day here a couple days later when we were rained out of Pacific Groveand we were waiting out the BIG STORM OF ‘08 before driving home.Food and drinks are excellent [can personally vouch for coffee, cocoa, and tea; burger, portobello panini, and the bacon-bleu cheese scone are all mmmmmmmmm].Very impressive level of social consciousness/green business practices — free trade coffee *and* sugar, different flush levels on the toilet, bamboo sinks, heat lamps instead of heating the entire place — I’ve grown up near Berkeley and am used to this kind of progressiveness but this goes even beyond most of what I’ve seen locally. Good variety of furniture [bar stools, cafe tables for your laptop, armchairs for napping, big heavy tables with church pews for groups].Minus a star because our table service was awful the first evening we were there, 4-5 people working and very few customers but it took us half an hour to have our order taken, another half hour to get our food, and our waitress never came back after that to see if we wanted drinks/desserts even though we were there for several more hours and all she seemed to be doing was fiddling around with the TV. We ordered at the counter during our next visit and that was fine.

Pretty cool place in the factory area of Sand City (near the Costco center), just a short drive from Monterey The place is a metro bistro / cafe that houses local artists’ works and holds live concerts in an intimate setting. They also have an array of interesting events throughout the week, like a boardgame and Wii nights in addition to spelling bees and open mike sessions. I tried a sausage and egg breakfast wrap and a panini with brie cheese, onions, and apples inside. Both were pretty good. I also tried the orange flavored iced tea they had brewed for the day, which was also yummy. They have breakfast, sandwiches, salads, and bakery offerings (that I know of). I only went in for lunch, but would definitely like to try it again the next time I am in the area! So if you have something good let me know so I can order it next time!

This place is incredible, to say the least. It isn’t where you would expect it, out in industrial sand city..The coffee was good. The dinner was good. I didn’t feel out of place there with my young kids. Access to a Wii and foos ball makes passing the time while you have a short wait for food, all the better.I am looking forward to coming here with friends and hanging out and having beers and coffee, along with there elegant eats.
